2016 MSCI Woman’s Empowerment Conference
A Note of Thanks
This first thing I have to say is that glory be to God for all that he did for each of us during this conference. God told me that this conference was going to be EPIC. I did not understand the fullness of that statement until the ending moments when I finally had a moment to take everything in.
Before God gave me the 2016 conference theme, I had been waiting for some specific things for years. I had cried many tears, experienced many “interesting” situations and circumstances that I “pressed through” more than once. I still had to wait. In arriving at my “state of maturity”, I was courageous enough to evaluate why I was still waiting and how I was choosing to conduct myself while waiting. This process led to me discovering that many of God’s daughters were in the same holding pattern that I had found myself in for years.
Before this conference, many of us saw waiting as delaying us from embarking upon a long awaited or eagerly anticipated expectation. It delayed us from receiving something. We experienced a flood of emotions while waiting. Going from feeling frustration, anxiousness, loneliness, anger, and confusion to peace, joy, or excitement to name a just a few.
On April 15th and April 16th of 2016, God met each woman where she was in her waiting process. He let each of us know that with waiting comes transition and, whether we want it or not, movement is certain. How we wait determines the speed and direction of our movement. The good news he had for each of us was that there had been a blessing in the waiting the entire time and that regardless of how long we had been waiting, we were next in line.
I would like to thank every woman that attended this conference. It was my prayer that each of you left different from how you arrived. To the God ordained women who spoke into the lives of each woman bringing change and hope may he give each of you your heart’s desires. Evangelist Nichelle Early, Pastor Kysha Thompson, Evangelist Natalie Caldwell Kirkpatrick, First Lady Elder Pauline Fitzpatrick, Leah Leon, Esq. and Apostle Dr. Arlene Chavis, I thank you with every fiber of by being.
